So how does your home page look when it first loads ? If your site has a pop up or standalone interstitial which show up when a visitor first opens your home page, (yep, that' all those annoying ads, surveys, and stuff like that) then expect to slide down the rankings in Google's SERPs.
From Google's Webmaster Central Blog...
Starting today (10th January, 2017), pages where content is not easily accessible to a user on the transition from the mobile search results may not rank as high.
It's pretty frustrating to follow a search query link to a website and before you have had chance to read any of the page a window opens over the top of the main page with some offer or advert.
The aim of this update is to improve user experience from search query to browsing the website that answers that query which means minimal interference between clicking the link and getting to requested information.
Have you searched for your own website on Google just lately ? How well are you ranking for searches related to your business ? Have you been penalised ?
Google also continues to favour secure websites with their own browser update which flags up websites which collect payment data but do not have a security certicate.
If your site is struggling to show up in search results why not give us a call and we'll do a review of your website's ranking performance with feedback on what we might be able to do to improve your online presence.
