We've recently updated Clixbys.co.uk with a new responsive website. Using our latest vcms (content management system) the site now has a full size image header, news and projects blocks and some call to action buttons in the footer. A fully responsive image gallery shows off some of Clixbys recent work building mountain bike trails and other land management work.
With so many internet users browsing via a mobile or tablet, having a responsive website is essential for your online presence. Google is very keen on websites which provide a positive user experience, as ultimately website in it's index reflect on Google capability to deliver goo quality content to it's end users. So for some time now, websites that are not responsive and do not scale to fit the device window will not feature as prominently in search results.
For Clixby's, it was simply a case of a new look and feel, refreshing the text and images and giving the staff at Clixby's Land Management more power over their content so they can keep the site up to date easily.
With our vcms content manager, users and administrators are free to add content including images on pages throughout the site safe in the knowledge each page will work properly and fit nicely to whatever device the user is browsing on. Images are particularly difficult to manage sometimes as the image size varies, and often smart phone images are huge which can throw out page layouts. Using our image manager you can check image sizes, and use styles to position images properly on the page.
On the image gallery within the Clixbys website we've used a slideshow which is great for showing the images on large or small screens, adapting to the display and ulitlising touch technology on mobiles.
